Snake dances have been done around the world since ancient times. In Minoan Crete, in India, in Africa, and in America by Native Americans, snakes were a part of religious, spiritual, and celebratory traditions. Some of these continue to this day.

The serpent symbolizes many universal qualities, including life, wisdom, hidden knowledge, sensuality, and Divine Presence.

Performances that include snakes can be powerful and mesmerizing. Perizada presents dances by special arrangement that feature her serpent partner, Taj, a Colombian Red-tail Boa. Snake dances must be requested and agreed to in advance of the upcoming event. Please contact Perizada for more information and to request a snake dance.
